Care Kits
A beautification project
in partnership with
the Community.

Together we are building
a safe space & sense of place
for our Community.
51 Division – Toronto Police Service and SHIFT, an award winning landscape architecture and urban design firm, invite the community to participate in the development of a beautiful outdoor gathering space at Haven Toronto.
The 'One Community' project will see the creation of an inviting space on Jarvis (north of Shuter) that complements the community, reflects its natural beauty, and provides practical solutions to issues facing elder men impacted by homelessness and isolation.

Protection from
the Elements
Protection from the elements is key to the health and wellbeing of clients, especially during periods of extreme heat.
There are more homeless deaths in the summer than any other time of year.

Increasing
Social Inclusion
Elder homeless men in Toronto are isolated from the community.
This space will provide clients with a safe place
to gather, socialize, and
be part of a community.

Maximizing the
Available Space
Space is limited in downtown Toronto.
This project will result in
a beautiful, quaint space for our Community to gather, share and
take pride in.

Minimizing
Costs
With help from the community, through sponsorship, donations and donations in-kind,
no Programming funds
will be required for
this effort.
